TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC TRANSIT

As is evident in his approach and policies, James avoids doctrinaire “black and white” adversarial positions that are often harmful or at least only beneficial to a privileged few.  His approach to transportation will be a sensible plan for maximum benefit.  As he personally uses all the main modes of urban transportation -- private automobile, public transit, personal bike, and his own two feet -- James has valid insight into the benefits and limitations of each.  As the city continues to grow, greater pressures build on the existing road infrastructure.  James is a strong advocate for LRT, but also believes that other alternatives need to be given a higher priority, including extensive improvements to our whole transit system (improving routes and information technology to facilitate easier access), and expanding our bicycle network as efficiently and effectively as situations allow.
